Strategy. Transformation. Execution.

Most businesses don't have a shortage of good ideas…

What stops them is everything that comes after the idea.

  • The leadership team is already at capacity running the business, and there is no time left to run the change as well.
  • There are plenty of options on the table, and no reliable way to judge which one is genuinely worth backing.
  • The capability to execute it isn't on the payroll, and hiring for it is slow, expensive, and hard to justify.
  • A major system, AI or digital programme is underway, and nobody can say with confidence whether it will land.

And when it's over, no one can point to the benefits the business case promised.

They have a shortage of follow-through.

That's the gap we close. We work with CEOs and senior leadership teams facing complex change, backed by thirty years of experience and a track record that proves it.

What we do

We work across four areas:

01

Business Transformation & Innovation

No business stays relevant by standing still, so transformation is ongoing work rather than a one-off project. We start by working with your teams to identify where the real opportunities sit, and can run innovation workshops with them where that helps surface ideas. From there we help you get clear on your core value proposition, then create or adapt the business model that delivers on it.

02

Embedding the Change

Strategy is only successful if embedded well. We embed the change into the systems, processes, training, and culture of the business, and bring stakeholders along so it has genuine buy-in. This ensures the plan survives past the launch and becomes how the business actually works in the long term.

03

Realising the Benefits

Adoption isn't the finish line. We ensure the initiative is held to account against the business case it was built on, tracking whether the value actually shows up, and we put the correct metrics and KPIs in place to measure success.

04

Fractional COO

Not every business needs, or can justify, a full-time executive. We augment your executive team with a senior, experienced operator to tap into from time to time, perhaps for a defined task or a project, without the cost and commitment of a permanent hire.

A good strategy document and an executed result are two completely different things. A strategy document may achieve the green light of approval, but execution takes months of deliberate action and experience to see it through.

About Kingsley Advisory

Kingsley Advisory was founded on a simple concept that any organisation that stops renewing itself quietly loses relevance. Markets move, customer expectations shift, and a business that doesn't evolve soon begins to atrophy. Strategy sets the direction for renewal. Innovation and transformation give it substance. Pruning back what no longer serves the business creates the room for new growth. We work alongside leaders through all of it, from setting the direction, to embedding the change, to making sure the benefits promised at the outset are delivered.

The Principal

Kingsley Advisory was founded by Mark Young, a senior executive and strategic adviser with more than 30 years' leadership experience, including executive and governance roles with Toyota New Zealand. There he held management portfolios spanning sales, business transformation, strategy, finance, information technology, marketing, people and culture, enterprise risk, governance and value chain operations.

Mark works particularly well with boards, chief executives and senior leadership teams facing complex organisational challenges, helping leaders make sense of complexity, establish clear priorities and turn strategic direction into change that can be delivered. His breadth across strategic, financial, operational and people leadership means he can see across an organisation and understand what will make a difference in practice.

His governance experience includes roles as an Executive Director, Non-Executive Director, Trustee, Company Secretary and Advisory Board Member. Mark holds an MBA with Distinction, a Master of Management (Hons) and a Bachelor of Business Studies, along with governance training through the Institute of Directors.
